North Wales Sunsets

For me there is no better time to take a picture than in the evening, North Wales is stunning already! But, when you capture the sun going down on top of a mountain or on one of our many beaches the views are breath-taking. I’ve taken many pictures of sunsets over time but, here are just a few that I have taken as recently as yesterday evening. The Top 3 Things To Consider When Choosing Photos For Your Website

When creating a website, photography is often the last thing people think about. Photography can make or break a user’s perception of the website and ultimately your brand. It is worthwhile putting the effort in to get it right, visitors to your website will look at the pictures before reading the text. 1. Avoid overusing stock photos Stock photos are fine in small quantities. They are ideal if you are blogging regularly, but for the main pages on your website (Home, Services etc) you’ll want real pictures of your business, products and services that represent who you are what you do. WORST OFFENDERS: Smiling models (solo, groups, meetings etc). Generic handshakes (close ups).… Read More

The Little Orme

One of the great things about living and working in North Wales is that you get to visit places like The Little Orme! I mean how lucky are we that these spectacular places are right on our doorstep? Some people would travel for miles just to spend a few hours here! So, I’m very grateful to live so close to the coast and inland and can enjoy the best of both worlds. I am also very lucky being a photographer in this awesome part of the world. As well as being lovely to look at The Little Orme also has quite the history so, here’s a little about it from… Read More

Sue Hearn Business Shoot

Last week I was asked by the lovely Sue Hearn from North Shore Productions to take some pictures for their upcoming website. Sue didn’t want the typical formal, boring shots, she wanted something a bit more relaxed and colourful. After having a look at my informal headshots on my site, she knew they were the type she was looking for. I also took some business shots of her husband a few months ago and she really liked them as well. We decided to go to The Station in Colwyn Bay, as the decor and colours in there are nice and light and the green also makes for a good backdrop.… Read More

Just A Couple Of Pictures

Hey everyone! I hope your week has been going good so far? Mine has been much better this week. This blog isn’t about anything in particular to be honest, I just wanted to share some pictures with you all that I’ve taken over the last 2 weeks. I try and take my camera with me as much as possible because even if I’m sat in a coffee shop with my husband I like to snap pictures of coffee and other tasty drinks or food. Don’t worry though, I am not one of those people who constantly takes pictures of food & drink. I still like to be in the moment,… Read More

A Trip To Rhuddlan Castle

When you think of castles in North Wales, the first one that comes to mind is Conwy, situated in the medieval town it’s easy to see why it’s so poplar! I’ve been to Conwy Castle many times in my life, as that’s where I grew up and I never really gave much thought into visiting any of the others in North Wales. Then I discovered Rhuddlan Castle… it may not be in the same great condition as Conwy but it makes up for it with stunning views and wonderful architecture. I’ve wanted to photograph it for a while now and last week I finally got the chance to. Me &… Read More

Business Showcase Shoot In The Great Outdoors

A few weeks ago, I was approached by a local web designer to provide website photography for a new clothing company based in Conwy. The client sells garments with different frog characters stitched on to them, so she wanted the shoot to represent the brand. After both of us having a look for locations we finally decided to go to Conwy RSPB nature reserve because the green from the trees and mountains combined with the water was just ideal. I’ve also wanted to do a clothing shoot for a while now and couldn’t wait to get started!! The models were the client’s granddaughter and granddaughter’s boyfriend and as they were… Read More

First Photography Magazine Feature

As a photographer one of my main goals in life was to have one of my images published in a photography magazine. Why you ask? Well, I think honestly I just wanted to be able to see how far I’ve come as a photographer and to also keep reminding myself to carry on doing what I love. After uploading my images to Digital Photographers website I was contacted in March by the editor of the magazine and she asked to feature me in issue 187. Of course I happily said yes, and 2 months later my image is in thousands of magazines sold all over the UK. So today I’m… Read More

Honey Studio Stationery Product Photography

A few weeks ago I was asked by web designer Karen Thomas to photograph wedding stationery for a client of hers, the pictures were for the clients new website that will be launched at the end of this month. Honey Studio Stationery wanted the photographs to be in the style of Flatlay as this is the current trend for stationery products. I really enjoy doing this style of photography as it gives my the chance to try differnt styles and be creative. If you would like to buy any of the stationery then give them a follow on Facebook & look out for their new website! If you’d like to learn… Read More

Dog Sitting & Lots Of Walks Around Conwy

Afternoon all! Well, it’s certainly been an eventful 2 weeks for me and the hubby. We’ve been looking after a well loved family pet ( Tilly ) hence the reason for the lack of content on here. I’ve managed to find some spare time today though to write a blog. I’m currently sat in my living room/kitchen/dining room drinking black filtered coffee like it was water and listening to some good old cheesy 80’s music!! 😀 what better time to catch the writing bug? So let me ask you something, are me and my husband the only ones who let the dog take up the whole bed every night? Even… Read More
